Pretty and comfortable space that is very accommodating for kids. Extensive menu and decent wait times for food arrival. Everyone enjoyed the food immensely. Definitely a go-to neighborhood Mexican place.

I d jet come here often because it's across town for me but this place is such a classic and open almost 100 years ! My favorite is nachos supreme loaded with everything and not a rip off price wise!. Service is amazing and I love the old school serving dress and attire. My favorite seat in the house is at the fireplace in entry.

This is a nice restaurant to visit while in LA. It feels like a typical Mexican restaurant in America when you walk in. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. The food was good, I got a cheese quesadilla. The chips and salsa they give to the table was really good, my group went through it quickly. Over all it was good.

It'd been several years since I'd visited this LA staple. I'd forgotten I'd previously reviewed 13 years ago. I rated average last time but I'm bumping it up to 4 stars now. Visited just before 4 on a Saturday so parking was free and plentiful in the lot. While there were plenty of patrons inside, there was no wait. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The food was plentiful and tasted hot the spot. I ordered a two-item combo and it came out on two plates! I especially love that they aren't skimpy with chips and salsa. Visited with a picky 9-year-old who loved the rice and highly complimented the crispy fries. Because El Coyote has been around for nearly 100 years it's a great spot for some authentic LA history.

There's a rich history here and famously featured in film/pop culture. Celebrity visits aside, regulars still feel at home here. I observed time and time again staff call on patrons by name and ask if they would be having their usual. It's magic. I cannot say enough how enthusiastic and attentive the service was. The food... make sure you wear comfortable attire because you will eat more than you should! I had a carnitas burrito and my boyfriend had the fish tacos, the portions are generous and every bite was addictive. While you're here have one of their Legendary Margaritas, they do NOT disappoint.

The scratch magarita here is strong! The 1/2 nachos is a perfect size for my petite diet. My bf like the #1 it comes with cheese enchiladas, crunchy beef taco, beans, and rice. Service and decor here was the best part. Really felt like a special causal dinner. They have their own parking lot. I read a sign they charge for valet parking after 4 pm. I would definitely come here again and try to sit at the Sharon Tate table

I wanted something different tonight, for 45 years I always order 3 or 4 of the same items on the menu so our waitress (Melina) suggested Off the menu Shrimp enchilada with rice and beans. It was so delicious. The shrimp are grilled that in it self is great but throwing it with the cheese enchilada rice and beans OMG. Please try this I am adding this to my top 5 mmaybe top 3 things I will get here when I come in. My son likes taking the Enchilada Howard and asking them to make It as a wet burrito. Let me know what you think about the two off the menu?

My go to mexican restaurant when i want yummy comforting and always delicious food. Ive never had a miss here. My go to is their #1 with cheese quesadilla and crunchy shredded beef taco. So good. Their chips and salsa are on point and DO NOT skip the house margarita. It is a must. The service here is always excellent. The vibe/decor super unique and festive. I recommend bringing 10 bucks to valet park. 10/10 recommend

I had a great night with my friends here. The drinks are strong; I'm not complaining, but one was more than enough for me. I got the blue corn tamales which I thought were alright, actually better as leftovers. I tried my friend's plates as well and thought they were also just alright. We did feel unnecessarily rushed by our server, but she did serve us quickly...We came for the experience of hanging out in a fun restaurant, which essentially is what you are paying for.

The food, service, and ambiance here are fantastic. The moment you enter you feel as though you've left Los Angeles. The inside is an incredible colorful array of paintings, lights, and vibrant culture. The service kept the drinks coming and the chips too. The food was phenomenal. We split the mixed chicken and steak fajitas. We were delighted and there was plenty for both of us. I can still hear the meats sizzling. All in all this place is an LA legend that rightfully deserves its place in our hearts and pallets. Gracias El Coyote!
